Part 15 : first Mistake

Let’s glance at another thing as well – he hated his father and didn’t want to be recognized by his father’s name and so kept a new name for himself – Voldemort. When he thought he was immortal, he must have thought that he was no less than the thousands of names of great wizards down in the pages of the wizarding history. But also to addition to that, he immortal and shall not die like those gone.
This must have made him compare himself to Lord and that’s how Voldemort became the Dark Lord or Lord Voldemort. Later, however, due to lack of friends and family, he desired respect which he thought being great would fetch him but nothing such happened and so he had to terrorize people so much that they called him ‘You – know – who’ or ‘He – who – must – not – be – named’ Maybe he coined these himself too, as he once said he wanted a name everyone should fear taking. Or maybe, the name was tabooed earlier as well.

Back to the fight, the fate of the battle wasn’t clear to anyone. There were plenty on both sides. However, one person played the most important role here – Severus Snape. The guy, heart broken, with Lily’s marriage with James, considered his second love – Dark Arts, his life. He overheard the prophecy as we all know and told Voldemort about it. We also know that he had heard only half of the prophecy but that didn’t really matter cause even if Voldemort would have known the entire prophecy, he must have still thought to kill his enemy first.

Voldemort wasn’t the kind of guy to follow rules strictly and be all disciplined and stuff. He knew practice and experiment is what can be hazardous. Therefore, Voldemort must have chosen Potters to be more of a threat than Longbottoms. He valued the information Snape had provided, worked it out and went for Potters. Snape realized the terrible thing he had done and so knocked on Dumbledore’s door for help. Dumbledore not only sent the Potters into hiding but also brought Snape on his side.
Nevertheless, Voldemort found out about the secret keeper and then went after the Potters. We al know what next…
Voldemort faced James first and killed him immediately for he had seen the boy in Lily’s arms… the same boy as the one in the prophecy… the boy needed dealing as soon as possible. And nothing could stand in the way… not a small one year boy could defeat the greatest Lord of all time!
Lord Voldemort was blinded here. It is difficult to see the dream; you worked a lifetime for, break. I agree that Voldie was wrong here but just think of him once. Well we all know what happened then – he paid a price worse than death. Voldie lost his body and also a part of his already divided soul.
Trust me the pain must have had been huge. Apart from just physical pain…the pain of the soul must have been also there. Losing a part of your soul cant be easy for that matter of fact!
